Gentoo gets streetwise with new appointment

Streetwise by Gentoo, has appointed a new Business Development Manager to help the team expand their operations in Scotland and the surrounding areas.

Bryan Healy, former Anti Social Behaviour Strategic Advisor from Glasgow Housing Association who has over 20 year’s community safety experience will be responsible for growing the business as well as managing the sales and implementation process.

After serving over five years with Strathclyde Police, Bryan helped establish the first anti social behaviour (ASB) specialist team in Scotland within Renfrewshire Council in 1993. He also established the first in-house Mediation service within a Scottish Local Authority before joining the Glasgow Housing Association as Neighbourhood Relations Manager in 2003. A past Chairman of the Scottish Anti Social Behaviour Officers Forum (ASBOF) he is now a Director of the Social Landlords Crime and Nuisance Group (SLCNG).

This move follows a successful year for Streetwise, a fully functioning web-based application that allows front line staff to monitor and track ASB and other tenancy breaches effectively.

Since they launched commercially in 2011, Glasgow Housing Association, North Tyneside Council, Glasgow Community and Safety Services (GC&SS), Greenfields Community Housing, Poplar Harca, Chelmer Housing Partnership and Freebridge Community Housing have selected Streetwise as their preferred ASB case management system. This cost effective application is the only ICT product commercially available that has been developed by a Registered Provider for others in the marketplace.

Michelle Meldrum, Deputy Director, Gentoo Living said: “After a successful year for Streetwise our priority is to further raise awareness of the system and help other organisations tackle ASB head on, improving the lives of people and wider communities up and down the country. In his previous role Bryan led in the implementation of Streetwise to over 1800 members of staff within Glasgow Housing Association, so fully understands the benefits and processes involved.”

Bryan Healy, New Business Development Manager, Streetwise said: “I am absolutely delighted to be joining the team. With my experience working on both the front line and at a strategic level, I fully understand the importance of an intelligence-led approach when dealing with ASB and tenant vulnerability. Streetwise is a flexible system that will support other housing associations to manage ASB and pin-point where help and support is most needed. I look forward to telling others all about it.”

Streetwise is committed to making communities safer and aim to help others to do the same. For more information about Streetwise visit www.gentoogroup.com/streetwise. Alternatively, call 0191 525 5000 or email enquiries@streetwise-cms.com.
