Ward Hadaway sign deal with Liverpool Sound City
Law firm, Ward Hadaway has announced a deal with forthcoming music festival, Liverpool Sound City 2013.
The Manchester-based firm said it has partnered with the festival following the success of its deal with international digital and music conference, Future Events 2013.
This is the third time Ward Hadaway will sponsor the event, and members of its team will sit on panels where the future of the music business will be debated.
Ward Hadaway will also put on a series of Liverpool Sound City Business Clinics to give one-to-one free advice on intellectual property to musicians as well as digital and music businesses.
Laura Harper, partner and head of creative industries team at the law firm, said: “Partnering with cutting edge music and digital festivals like Future Everything and Liverpool Sound City has meant we [can] get involved in aspects of the planning of the conferences.
“We also have the opportunity to network with and to debate the future of our industry and share panels with some of the leading figures in the creative industries sector. All of this enables us to stay connected with and relevant to the businesses we support.”
Keynote speakers at the event will include The Rolling Stones’ manager Andrew Loog Oldham and rock photographer, Ian Tilton.
Also joining the line-up will be anti-X Factor protestor, John Morter, who led the social media campaign to get Rage Against the Machine’s song, ‘Killing in the name of’, to the Christmas number one in favour of the talent show’s winner.
Ms Harper added: “All in all Liverpool Sound City 2013 promises to be a real headline event across the creative music and digital sectors and we are delighted to be the legal partner there again for the third year running.
“The ethos of Liverpool Sound City is to motivate and inspire delegates and this fits in perfectly with the approach of the Creative Industries team.
“We see our role as supporting and enabling creative businesses to be successful and achieve their commercial goals without being caught out or exploited.”
David Pichlingi, chief executive of Liverpool Sound City, commented: “We are delighted to have Ward Hadaway sign up again as a sponsor of Liverpool Sound City 2013.
“Over the past two years as Official Entertainment Law Firm, they have been an integral part of our conference and provided great support and advice for our business.
“Their knowledge, approach and enthusiasm fits in perfectly with the spirit, content and ethos of Liverpool Sound City.”
