Tech firm boosts its ranks with young talent

NORTH East technology firm Eemits has added four regional graduates and one apprentice to its team as it continues its rapid expansion.

The Billingham-based company has enjoyed a number of national contract wins in recent months and is looking to build future success by taking on some of the most talented individuals in the region’s graduate pool.

The firm has taken on North East graduates Emma Thompson, Nasir Ahmadi, Shane Appleby and Kibrom Fitsum, as well as 17-year-old apprentice Lauren Mallaby.

Emma Thompson graduated from Teesside University with a masters in Business and Managerial Economics, as well as a degree in Business, Management and Marketing and joins the firm as sales and marketing executive.

Nasir Ahmadi graduated from Teesside University with a degree in Information Communication Technology and has a Higher National Diploma in Computer Studies. He joins Eemits as a service engineer.

University of Sunderland graduate Shane Appleby joins as an applications developer. Although he has a degree in psychology, he was recruited through a Knowledge Transfer Project.

Kibrom Fitsum graduated from Newcastle University with a degree in Electronics and will work at Eemits as an electronics engineer, with his role including the repairing and programming of radios.

Lauran Mallaby studied at St Michael’s RC School in Billingham and after a two year apprenticeship hopes to become an official employee.

Managing director Craig Matthews said: “All of the new team members have shown great drive and determination and a real passion for what Eemits represents as a company.

“They have all shown the commitment to complete their studies and I believe this suggests they’ll display the same level of commitment to driving our business forward as we continue to grow.”

Eemits specialises in using communications technology to help its customers become more efficient and profitable.

Earlier this year, Hertfordshire Fire Service became the latest in a long line of new national clients that Eemits has won outside the region in the last 12 months.

National transport group Metrobus and Royal College of General Practitioners, in London, are also among its recently added customers.
