Lowry Outlet Appoints New Centre Manager
Peel Outlets’ Lowry Outlet has appointed Helen Anderton as its new Centre Manager, with a wide-ranging mandate. Formally Centre Manager at Freeport Talke, Stoke on Trent, she has worked in the retail industry for more than 16 years.
As part of an established senior management team, Anderton will play a key role in ensuring that the Lowry Outlet Shopping Centre has the facilities and structures in place to ensure that the recent developments and expansion with Peel Outlets can continue. Amongst other things, she will be involved in the day-to-day management of the Centre, improved customer service and experience and the strategic planning of on-site events and local partnership collaborations.
With career highlights spanning the launch of the flagship B&Q store in Sutton and seven years spent transforming and redeveloping Freeport Talke, Anderton was approached to head up the team at the ever expanding Lowry Outlet.
Commenting on her new position, Anderton said, “This is an exciting time to be joining the Lowry Outlet team. The Peel Group acquired the Centre last year and is keen to increase and improve the offer available to the customer and make the most of the Centre’s waterfront location. After working on the redevelopment of Freeport Talke I have plenty of experience in transforming outlets so I’m keen to get started on this new challenge.”
The mum-of-two and “keen baker,” studied at the University of Essex before starting her retail career on a graduate management trainee scheme at B&Q. She then went on to manage B&Q’s most successful showroom team in the country.
Jason Pullen, Managing Director of Peel Outlets, commented, “I’m delighted with the appointment of Helen Anderton as the new Centre Manager for the Lowry Outlet. Helen brings with her in-depth retail experience, coupled with a solid background in leading and directing the teams that work with her. As part of Peel Outlets, the Centre is at the heart of the developing media hub that is MediaCityUK. Helen will be tasked with ensuring the Centre is fully integrated within the changing landscape and capitalises on all opportunities that continue to raise the Centre’s profile.”
