12 new jobs as Durham stores open

Durham’s The Gates shopping centre will host two popular high street chain stores, that will create 12 jobs.

Weekly payment centre, BrightHouse, has opened its first Durham store within a 2,000 sq ft space; and North East fashion retailer, Triple S, has relocated to a larger 1,140 sq ft store within the centre.

Daniel Tabiner, The Gates’ operations manager, said: “We are thrilled to have secured two such popular high street stores for The Gates, as not only have they created new jobs in the city but they also allow us to offer our customers an enhanced shopping experience.

“It’s quite a coup for us to welcome Durham’s very first BrightHouse store as well as acquiring Triple S as we envisage both stores will be very popular amongst our shoppers and so expect to see an increase in footfall over the coming months.

“We hope that by securing brands such as Triple S and BrightHouse will help to put The Gates on the map as Durham’s main city centre retail destination and will encourage other high street names to secure premises within the centre.”

Triple S currently has six stores located across the North East which offer a unique mix of branded fashion for men and women with labels including Glamorous, Superdry and Vans Clothing.

As the UK’s leading rent-to-own retailer, BrightHouse has over 250 stores offering household goods on low regular payments. Its products range from top brand technology, including Smart 3D LED TVs and laptops to stylish sofas and bedroom furniture.
