Jobs created as Yorkshire Bank backs care home

Up to a hundred new full and part-time jobs are to be created in East Yorkshire at a new care home being developed with financial support from Yorkshire Bank.

Construction work starts next month during June 2013 on the new £4.15m care home on Magdalen Lane, Hedon, which has gained funding through Yorkshire Bank’s Business and Private Banking Centre in Hull.

The new home, which will provide nursing and specialist dementia care for 54 residents, is being developed by family-run care home business, Yorkare Homes Ltd, Brantingham, near Hull, and is expected to open in August 2014.

This new funding from Yorkshire Bank follows its provision of £3.875m to build the 64-bed Westfield Park Nursing Home which opened earlier this year creating an initial 25 new jobs.

Laurence Garton, Yorkare Homes development director, said: “Our new care home in Hedon will have the most modern facilities for nursing and dementia care available.

“We have also gained planning permission for an adjacent 40-bed home which will enable us to create a stand-alone specialist dementia care centre.”

Anthony Hutt, Yorkshire Bank Hull Business and Private Banking Centre commercial banking relationship manager, said: “Society’s understanding of how best to care for older people is constantly changing and we are pleased to be supporting the development of this new home by such a dynamic and forward-thinking family business.”

Yorkshire Bank has introduced a series of measures designed to help growing businesses – including a £1bn “Business Expansion Fund” and switching package to assist businesses transferring their banking facilities.
