Cream helps Barnsley museum to achieve flying start
Yorkshire PR agency Cream has helped the new Experience Barnsley museum get off to a flying start.
The Barnsley-based agency was appointed in February to deliver PR for the newly-opened £4.3m visitor attraction.
Cream has already secured extensive television, radio and print coverage in the month running up to the launch.
Media monitoring reveals almost five million people were exposed to news stories, features and interviews about the new museum.
In the first weekend of opening, more than 5000 people attended the new museum, which celebrates Barnsley life and culture.
Jane Whitham, director at Cream, said: “We were delighted to be appointed to handle the PR for Experience Barnsley.
“The town has a rich and fascinating history and it’s been really enjoyable telling these stories and building anticipation.”
Cream is a PR agency and communications consultancy based at Barnsley Digital Media Centre.
The company was founded in 2011 and handles PR for a growing number of clients ranging from Wentworth Castle Gardens, sporting social enterprise Team Activ, laser firm Cutting Technologies and fulfilment house Cambertown.
