Vintage role for auto-enrolment

A long-established Teesside financial firm is one of the first in the North-East to launch an auto-enrolment service for local companies needing support following rule changes to workplace pensions.

Stockton-based Vintage Chartered Financial Planners has recruited experienced adviser Anthony Long to run a service that will set up and manage workplace pension schemes for employers across the region.

Financial planner Anthony has joined Vintage after more than five years with HSBC, most recently based in the Gateshead Metro Centre as deputy branch manager of HSBC subsidiary M&S Bank.

The 28-year-old, who also offers financial advice to personal clients, aims to join Vintage partner Steven Hodgson in gaining Chartered status before the end of 2014.

A graduate of Teesside University, Middlesbrough-born Anthony said: “I am delighted to have become part of such an exciting environment as Vintage becomes one of the very first financial companies to offer an auto-enrolment service to the region’s business community.

“As one of a select group of financial firms with Chartered status, Vintage has established an outstanding reputation for offering first-class financial advice to individuals and corporate customers.

“I’m looking forward to helping small, medium and large businesses across the region run their auto-enrolment schemes.”

Steven Hodgson, a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society, the highest personal achievement available within the financial services industry, said: “By 2017 every company in UK, no matter how large or small, must have registered company pensions scheme but many are unaware of just how much work is involved.

“In Anthony’s capable hands, our service will guide companies through the potential minefield, helping them set up, manage and run the auto-enrolment schemes for the benefit of their staff.

“Recruiting a highly-talented financial planner with Anthony’s desire and aspirations to be among the very best in the industry is a sign of the direction Vintage is heading.

“Along with the firm’s other talented young advisers, he will help us to build a new client base to complement the one built up over the past 25 years by my partner Paul Adams and I.”
