Networking Knowledge

We’ve all become well versed in the benefits of online networking in recent years; it provides free access to millions of business people globally, all just a quick click away. However, does this mean we have forgotten – and are neglecting – the benefits of more traditional networking methods?

Networking groups can be found across the country, all focused on different sectors and interests. These groups tend to meet on a regular basis to discuss business topics and give individuals the opportunity to make new contacts face-to-face, hopefully resulting in new business.

As a regionally based recruiter, Sellick Partnership are always looking for new and innovative ways to develop relationships with local businesses and strengthen our relationships with the community. Whether this is traditional networking at one of our legal CPD seminars or a more casual pub quiz, we like to give people a range of networking options that fit their business requirements and personalities.

One of our most exciting upcoming events is the Midlands Professional Football Tournament; taking place in Stoke-On-Trent on September 27th, it will be a great platform to meet new people within the business community without the formality of office walls.

Meeting other like-minded business people face-to-face allows you to be more at ease with the individual during future dealings; there’s no chances of an e-mail or telephone call be misinterpreted. Additionally, this more traditional networking method gives people the chance to see that you are committed, willing to go that extra mile to develop their network – and not someone just sat at a screen.

Networking in person can be essential for small businesses and those in increasingly competitive markets; you need to stand out and make yourself heard, and how better to do this than setting time aside to meet your existing customers or future contacts in person?

Despite the undeniable benefits of online and social media networking, you can’t dispute the impact face-to-face networking really does have - using the two in tandem is sure to give you an enviable list of business contacts and create a pipeline of future business.
