Baker Tilly strengthen North West team
Chartered accountants and business advisors, Baker Tilly, have strengthened their North West restructuring and recovery team, with the promotion of Keith Algie to director and the appointment of Alex Birch to associate director.
The two will offer corporate restructuring and advisory services across the region, with Mr Algie based in Hardman Street, Manchester and Mr Birch set to split his time between offices in Manchester and Stoke-on-Trent.
Mr Algie has more 18 years experience in contentious insolvency, bankruptcy assignments linked to fraud and public interest investigations for HMRC, while Mr Birch will join the firm from KPMG, and has 18 years’ accounting, insolvency and restructuring advisory experience gained in a wide range of sectors.
Lindsey Cooper, partner at Baker Tilly restructuring and recovery in Manchester commented: “The North West economy is still struggling and there are a large number of small and medium sized businesses experiencing different degrees of financial distress.
“The skills and experience that Keith and Alex bring to our senior team will help strengthen our offering to these businesses, and provide a better service to HMRC and our solicitor intermediaries across the region.”
