Grontmij wins £2m place on Scotland Excel framework
Leeds-based engineering consultancy Grontmij has been appointed to a major new framework agreement for the delivery of engineering consultancy services in Scotland.
The appointment to the framework has a potential annual value of £1m and will run for a minimum of two years.
Developed by Scotland Excel, a major public sector shared service organisation for Scotland, the framework is intended to deliver best value to a wide range of public organisations and local authorities, by facilitating improvements in procurement processes as well as increasing efficiency and collaboration.
Grontmij has successfully secured five lots within the engineering consultancy services framework, enabling it to provide a range of multidisciplinary services in areas which include roads and structures, transportation and traffic, environmental engineering, drainage and flooding and geotechnical and testing.
John Chubb, Grontmij’s managing director said: “Our appointment to this framework reinforces our strong presence in Scotland and we look forward to working collaboratively with local authorities and public bodies to deliver sustainable solutions that provide real innovation and value beyond engineering.”
Grontmij’s appointment follows its track record of delivering projects for local authorities which include land remediation works for the 2014 Commonwealth Games Athletes’ Village, commissioned by Glasgow City Council. Grontmij was able to achieve £10m of savings for the client through adopting a sustainable and innovative approach.
