Newcastle training providers land Yorkshire project
Newcastle-based training provider B-Skill has secured an apprenticeship provision deal with Leeds’ utilities firm, Smarta Environment.
As part of Smarta’s expansion, the business is taking on up to ten apprentices comprising engineers, administrative, marketing, and customer service staff.
Four new starters have already joined the company on a 12 month programme which will result in apprenticeship qualifications and the possibility of a permanent job with the company.
Janine Whitaker, PA to the MD at Smarta Environment, has been co-ordinating the scheme. She said: “As an organisation we are committed to nurturing the next generation and providing each person with the first step on their career path.
“Our training provider B-Skill has an excellent reputation and has already proved extremely accommodating in the way it delivers our on-site learning. We will certainly be working with the team there to bring in and train further new talent as our requirements grow.
“With the right support, apprenticeships are a powerful way to bring in resource and allow senior staff to concentrate on the achievement of core business objectives.”
Paul Wileman, managing director of B-Skill, added: “Pick up of our apprenticeship schemes is burgeoning because of the type of training we are able to offer and the flexibility we bring to the table.
“At B-Skill we know getting the right calibre of candidate is crucial and as a result we work very hard to achieve the highest standards from the outset.
“If you need extra manpower, apprenticeships are worth considering as there are talented candidates available who are not costly to employ thanks to a government subsidy.”
