TEMP TEAM takes title, Best Business Mentors 2013!
North East- recruitment firm TEMP TEAM, has been awarded Best Business Mentors in County Durham 2013, after leading Greenfield Community School (GCS) to victory in the Future Business Magnates Competition.
23 schools took part in this year’s theme of Made in Durham – Sold to the world, the schools created local products with a global market, coming up with ideas from knitted hats to wool of local rare-breed sheep.
Emma Crocher, Branch Manager in TEMP-TEAM’s Aycliffe office supported and mentored the pupils from GCS based in Newton Aycliffe. Helping them create a successful project idea. Emma also provides additional management support to TEMP-TEAM’s Newcastle office.
Emma Crocher, Branch Manager at TEMP TEAM, said “Working with Greenfield Community School has been so rewarding this year. I worked with them last year for the same competition, and going back to build on the existing relationship with the teachers was a fabulous experience. We all worked extremely hard and are so pleased that we came out on top!”
GCS were crowned overall winners for their Paper Shaper business idea to make cardboard furniture for children. The team earned a £2000 prize for their school and each member of the team also took home a £50 voucher.
Blake Reed, a student from GCS, said, “Doing the competition has been super fun, and winning it was amazing! We couldn’t have done it without Emma – our business partners help. We all want to do it again next year!”
Amy Thurley, teacher at GCS, said“ The Future Business Magnets competition has been great this year. All of the pupils were really dedicated; and the result speaks for itself. Well done everyone & special thanks to Emma for all her help and hard work“.
Greenfield was commended by the judges for “an excellent all round performance” featuring high quality work throughout the competition, with a great product idea with huge potential.
