Newcastle attracts crème of UK business for unique event
Newcastle Science City is hosting a unique one day business event on 12 September as part of the British Science Festival, attracting some of the UK’s leading entrepreneurs.
The event, InnovateNE, hosted at the Civic Centre in Newcastle, is the first ever spin out conference from the national Innovate forum in London.
A free full day conference, the event will bring together inventors, businesses, investors, academics and advisors to hear from over 20 prestigious speakers including founder of JoJo Maman Bébé, Laura Tenison MBE, about the importance of innovation in business.
With a jam-packed programme of speakers, seminars, workshops and one-to-one coaching sessions with industry experts from Enterprise Europe Network, Business & IP Centre Newcastle, the Design Council and the Technology Strategy Board, it is hoped the event will provide attendees with new ideas for their business, the tools to help deliver those ideas, as well as some contacts to help them along the way.
The conference will address some of the key issues affecting innovation in business, such as how businesses can protect their product and bring it to market, how consumer goods giant P&G is using open innovation and how businesses can manage the risks associated with delivering innovation.
There will also be an exhibition by some of the region’s leading businesses, showcasing innovation in practice in the North East.
InnovateNE 2013 will take place at Newcastle Civic Centre on 12 September.
The event, which is part of the British Science Festival 2013 programme, is delivered by Newcastle Science City and supported by the Technology Strategy Board, the UK’s innovation agency, the North East Local Enterprise Partnership, GrowthAccelerator and RTC North.
