Footy-mad lawyers gamble on 14th title win for United
Following United’s blistering 4-1 win against Swansea this weekend, Manchester-headquartered Abacus Solicitors (Abacus) have decided to gamble on the Reds lifting the trophy for the 14th time.
The firm’s conveyancing team is offering a full refund of legal fees to any client instructing the firm to sell a house between now and 30th September – but only if United win the league.
United supporter and managing partner of Abacus, Geoff Underhill commented:
“I see no reason why Manchester United can’t win the league again this season. Manchester is a city split along red and blue lines and I definitely think they can do it. David Moyes is under a lot of pressure to deliver, and the football fan in me really hopes he does. The businessman in me hopes he doesn’t because if United do win the title – we’ll be paying out to our clients for the second year in a row.”
Under a similar arrangement Abacus also paid out this year when Andy Murray won Wimbledon, refunding approximately 100 clients of the firm.
