Jones Myers rugby sponsorship receives top scores from players

Leeds and Essex based family law specialists Jones Myers LLP has helped a college rugby team to tackle the challenge of revitalising its kit.

Described as ‘Utterly fabulous’ by Chambers Legal Guide, the firm has sponsored the new blue, gold and white strip for St Bede’s college rugby team whose players include the son of Jones Myers partner Andrew Fox who plays in the under 15 squad.

After beating off stiff competition from 32 schools across five rounds of the Emerging Schools Lancashire Rugby Union Cup, the South Manchester team stormed to a 38-5 victory in their new kit in the final against St Margaret’s School.

Andrew Fox said: “My son Harry and his team mates were understandably over the moon when they took possession of the prestigious cup. They are likewise delighted with their vibrant new strip and very much appreciate the sponsorship support from Jones Myers.”

The practice’s commitment to putting something back into its local communities extends to raising thousands of pounds for worthy organisations in recent years.

Across 2011 and 2012 employees made a charity splash at the annual boat race in Roundhay Park in Leeds for Martin House Children’s Hospice at Boston Spa which cares for children and young people with progressive life limiting illnesses and provides support for their families.

The firm has also backed its senior associate Sarah Dickinson in her Great Wall of China trek for Alzheimer’s society, supported partner Fiona Kendall’s trustee volunteer activities in a Zambian school – and sponsored a fundraising event for a Leeds primary school attended by the daughter of senior associate Anthony Parish.
