North West interactive tool developers help sell houses

Redrow is using interactive devices produced by two of the North West’s brightest creative agencies to help potential house-buyers find their ideal property.

The Liverpool-based branding agency USP Creative has created an interactive deposit calculator whichthe house-builder is using in promotional events.

USP’s interactive touch-screen was unveiled last weekend at the Trafford Centre in Manchester. It allows users to work out which houses they can afford, when shown a list of Redrow houses within their area, based on their available deposit.

As well as designing and building the calculator, USP also created the exhibition stand and other promotional material for the event.

USP owner and founder Jan Peters said: “We have worked with Redrow for many years now to ease their customer journey and to create as transparent a process as possible.

“That we are moving into interactive tools and taking them directly to the customer shows the importance of engagement in a highly competitive market.”

Claire Jarvis, sales director for Redrow Lancashire, added: “The deposit calculator attracted lots of interest and once people interacted they were then comfortable to speak to our new build mortgage specialists and sales consultants.”

Redrow is also engaged in rolling out nationwide its new audio pen and interactive map, created by Madhouse Associates in Manchester.

When viewing a show home, potential buyers use the pen and map to explore the house in detail by positioning the pen on any room or feature, which sparks in-depth information about the surroundings.

The new technology comes as a result of an investigative project from Madhouse.

Clare Briscall, of the firm’s Research Plus division, said: “We have worked very closely with Redrow to deliver a solution which solves the issue of busy sales consultants. The added ‘sensory’ value – including sounds associated with each room such as a kettle boiling or coffee being poured when using the pen on the kitchen of the home - helps the homebuyer envisage themselves living in the home, rather than just walking around it.”

100 of the audio pens will now be distributed across Redrow show homes over the next month.
