Newcastle music agency make key appointment

A Newcastle music agency has hired a new technical administrator and events manager to run its bespoke online artist booking and tracking service and assist with upcoming North East indoor and outdoor events.

30-year-old Nina Ritson from Throckley secured the position with AMV Live Music after being introduced to the owners by one of the artists on its roster.

Ritson, who holds a Masters in event & cultural management is also the director of Newcastle’s Green Festival and through this appointment was heavily involved in organising the annual Corbridge Festival.

She said on her appointment: “I feel so lucky to have met Michael and Andrew and landed this position. Having Hydrocephalus also known as “water on the brain” and a Cavernous Angioma can come with its obstacles, especially as far as gaining employment in the industry you want to work in, but thankfully AMV can see past it and the team has been so welcoming.

“I love music and entertainment and have been looking for roles where I can be more creative and have a bigger part in developing events and helping others create awesome experiences, so this role will really help me flourish.

“AMV has amazing acts in its portfolio, providing so many genres and styles of music to events in the North East from weddings to bars to festivals. I’m so happy to be a part of it.”

Mick Forster, owner and managing director at AMV Live Music said: “We met Nina through one of our artists called the Shoeshop Quartet and after chatting about her involvement with Green Festival we thought she would be a good fit for our team especially in helping us with Corbridge Festival, regardless of her disabilities. To be honest we didn’t even consider the fact she has a disability as any sort of issue.”

“She is settling in nicely and is already fantastic at running the technical side of our business. We have just launched our new website which has a complex CRM system so we needed somebody professional and competent to ensure the smooth running of the site which allows clients to track their booking from an initial enquiry, liaising with their prospective artist or artists through to the final booking.

“We are launching an events arm to the business this autumn and with Nina’s background and Masters she will be a key player in helping that grow.”
