CitySprint acquires Leeds' UK Express
CitySprint and Leeds-based UK Express have announced the successful transfer of UK Express’ courier services to CitySprint, the UK’s leading same day distribution network.
This will provide UK Express’ customers in Leeds and the surrounding area access to CitySprint’s market-leading service and coverage, with a network of over 2,500 couriers and 37 service centres across the UK.
UK Express employees will transfer to CitySprint, but existing contact numbers will remain the same.
Patrick Gallagher, chief executive of CitySprint, said: “With the addition of this great business, we are strengthening our presence in the Leeds area as well as continuing to build on our national reach.
“As well as our extensive national network we are also able to offer customers in the area unrivalled technology, including our MyCourier app, live courier-tracking systems and automated status notifications.”
Phil Bridge, owner and managing director of UK Express, added: “CitySprint shares our commitment to excellent customer service, working with organisations of all sizes and a variety of needs.
“We are really excited about working with CitySprint and the added benefits this will bring to our customers and the local area and we will be working closely together to ensure a seamless transition process.
“For the time being though, it is ‘business as usual’, with the same team and contact number in place.”
