Behind the business with SecurEnvoy

SecurEnvoy provide technology that turns users’ mobile phones into authentication devices. Co-founder and sales director, Steve Watts, takes Bdaily behind the business.

What key challenges has your company recently faced?

The key challenge this year has been managing the growth of the company. The authentication field is being fuelled by social media and the cloud so, as a consequence, more and more businesses are embracing two-factor authentication. The challenge has been to meet this demand; getting the product to the channel fast enough, passing the technology onto our partners, recruiting and mobilising employees whilst setting up offices on both the east and west coasts of the US.

What is your biggest achievement over the past 12 months?

I think the biggest achievement for SecurEnvoy this year has been being able to reach out to other countries and cultures by making the website accessible in a wide variety of languages. It has been a massive project but now means we can reach a global audience.

What is your biggest focus for the coming year?

Expansion and growth will continue to be a key focus. Last year we witnessed 40 per cent growth and the aim this year is to continue that upward development.

If you had to choose one top piece of advice for someone just starting out in business, or is currently operating within your industry sector, what would it be?

Planning is essential! I would definitely advise anyone starting out in business to make sure they develop a comprehensive business plan. With reliable and executable plans in place you can ensure you always over-deliver to your customers and maintain strong cash flow as the same time.

Can you share with us your view of the current landscape of business, in your region or generally, and where your organisation sits within it?

The global market at the moment relies on an increasingly mobile workforce. Flexibility is key and demand is being driven by a huge variety of factors; office space, environmental concerns, increases in traffic. The global market requires remote access workers and that’s where SecurEnvoy’s solution comes in: we help businesses ensure that their remote workers are accessing company information securely and easily.
