Yorkshire firms team up for Burnley Bridge Business Park project

The Leeds-based developer Eshton has appointed fellow Yorkshire company GMI to build and refurbish two prestigious warehouse and industrial units for Phase One of Burnley Bridge Business Park by Junction 9 of the M65 in East Lancs.

Construction firm GMI, also based in Leeds, has been contracted to build out Magnesium Court and refurbish The Cobalt Building on the business park.

Magnesium Court comprises 29,000 sq ft of warehouse and industrial space, while the larger Cobalt Building is 64,100 sq ft.

James Chapman, managing director of Eshton, commented: “This is a very important appointment and crucial to the success of Burnley Bridge.

“GMI Construction has an excellent reputation for being reliable, efficient and professional and for completing quality projects on time and within budget.

“Our business park is set to create up to 1,400 jobs for the region and it is appropriate that a first-class northern construction company should be working with us to kick start the project.”

GMI Construction Group PLC was formed in 1986 and has grown to become a well-established successful building and construction services company operating throughout the UK.
