South Yorkshire “Mumpreneurs” reach finals of national business awards
South Yorkshire mums, and entrepreneurs, Elizabeth Hudson and Jane Whitham, have earned themselves a place in the final line-up of The Mumpreneur Awards, an annual ceremony aimed at celebrating parents throughout the UK who manage the difficult task of juggling business with family life.
Elizabeth, a mum-of-one from Thurgoland, and Jane, a mum-of-one from Penistone, run Cream Consultancy, a public relations company based in Barnsley.
They work alongside Sheffield mum Lucy Ashton, who has two children, and is PR manager at Cream.
Cream has been shortlisted for the Best Start Up award which recognises British companies which have created the biggest impact in the shortest space of time.
Having launched last year, Cream now has a team of five and a broad portfolio of clients across Yorkshire including Wentworth Castle, Cutting Technologies and Team Activ.
As well as being shortlisted for this category, Elizabeth and Jane are also in with a chance of winning the title of Inspirational Business Mum 2013, sponsored by The Formations Company. This award will be awarded to the mum who is an inspiration to all women in business.
Having reached the finals of The Mumpreneur Awards, Elizabeth said: “I am delighted our hard work in launching Cream and building it into a successful and innovative company in such a short time has been recognised. I’m really excited to find out if we’ve won the award!”
Judging the entry will be a panel of top entrepreneurs including former Dragon and Mumpreneur Hilary Devey. But they’ll have to wait until September 30, when the winners will be announced at The Mumpreneur Conference and Awards, being held at the Holiday Inn in Birmingham.
