Four Yorkshire firms combine to complete Arla Foods development
Four Yorkshire firms have combined to help complete a prestigious commission on a new development for the UK’s largest dairy company, Arla Foods.
The 1,750 sq m administration building in Aylesbury was constructed under the expert guidance of the West Yorkshire-based main contractor, Caddick Construction, and includes a cafeteria, office and meeting space for staff at the dairy business.
The planning requirements for the building, which is located in open countryside, required the use of natural materials to complement its surroundings.
Over 300 sq m of Western Red Cedar-faced panels and 210 sq m of aluminium-faced panels were used to create the stunning facade of the building.
The striking external cladding system, designed for the highest standards of thermal performance, was specified by DLA Architecture (Wakefield), produced and supplied by Panel Systems (Sheffield) and installed by HW Architectural (Brighouse).
Danny Phelan, sales manager at Panel Systems, said: “This was a major contract win for us and demonstrates our expertise in producing attractive panels, with excellent insulative properties.
“The building complements its rural surroundings perfectly and we are proud to be involved with such an impressive project.”
Arla’s new building is set to achieve a BREEAM Excellent rating for its green credentials.
