Mark Smith, 25, a surveyor with Land Factor, the Bywell-based company, which operates throughout the North of England and Southern Scotland, has passed the final assessment of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors – Assessment of Professional Competence.
Mark, a former pupil of Queen Elizabeth High School, Hexham, graduated with honours in an MA in Rural Surveying from the University of Aberdeen and joined Land Factor in 2011.
He said: “My area of expertise is Single Farm Payment and Entry Level and Higher Level Stewardship, but studying for this qualification introduced me to a number of other areas I’d now like to explore more fully.”
Land Factor provides a wide portfolio of services, including management, administration, capital tax planning, farm sales, valuation, project management, forestry and farm consultancy advice to estates of all sizes.
Director Athole McKillop said: “Mark’s result is entirely deserved and not only has it benefitted him, but it will also strengthen the service we are able to offer our clients.”
