Nine deliver software work for NHS Trusts

A South Tyneside-based software house is developing software for NHS Trusts around the country plan, to help them track and connect patients and staff on an unprecedented scale.

Nine’s latest success has been developed in partnership with their Shrewsbury-based client Gooroo,

The NHS Gooroo planning software enables both NHS providers and commissioners to play their full part in achieving waiting time targets safely, sustainably and affordably.

Dr Rob Findlay, founder of Gooroo, said: “Gooroo’s planning software for the NHS is advanced and complex, so we wanted a long-term support partner who would develop a deep understanding of our software and work closely with us on its on-going development.

“After a nationwide search, we appointed nine for the maturity, experience and cohesiveness of their team, and the value they offered compared with competitors in higher-cost locations. Two years on, nine has become integral to our business, and we particularly appreciate the professional, considered approach and helpful attitude they bring to every piece of work.”

Andy Walton, managing director at nine, adds: “The partnership with our clients is critical to building a successful bespoke software solution. We use a blank sheet of paper approach to each project, taking the time to understand the business and its specific requirements.

“Innovation is at the heart of nine, and NHS Gooroo is a perfect example of an innovative and forward thinking concept which has been developed by our handpicked team of experts; every detail has been purposefully designed with NHS providers and commissioners in mind.

“Working closely with our client, we’ve developed a solution which we can tweak, amend or upgrade in the future as their requirements anticipate and adapt to the changing healthcare environment, helping to maximise its cost effectiveness over the long term.”

Nine has worked with a broad range of customers around the world, spanning a diverse range of industries such as the oil and gas sector, public sector, housing, utilities, engineering and retail.

From globally recognised brand names including P&G, Barbour, the NHS, Gentoo and BT to entrepreneurs with a great idea, for example Harlow Printing, RHI and Car2U,nine has developed world class software solutions that have revolutionised the way companies work, saving their clients millions of pounds through improved efficiency and productivity achieved by connecting companies and their workforce.

Nine is a prime example of a company leading the way in innovation with their fresh and forward thinking approach to software development and were recently shortlisted for the Most Innovative Business award at the South Tyneside Business Awards 2013.
