Newcastle accountants back rugby team

A Newcastle rugby club has landed a welcome cash boost after securing a long-term sponsorship deal with a regional firm of medical accountants.

Newcastle medical accountancy specialist, BW Medical Accountants, has provided financial backing to the popular Medicals RFC in a deal worth £2,000 over the next two seasons.

The firm, which is the sister company to Newcastle-based Independent Financial Advisers, Blackett Walker Ltd, has invested the funds to support the rugby club in the purchase of new branded goal post protectors and match balls.

The funds were used to offset the cost of equipment, and welcomed given the current economic climate and rising costs of running a sporting organisation.

Ian Ratcliffe, Medicals RFC treasurer, said: “We are looking forward to working with BWMA and seeking further opportunities for them in the future. This deal has allowed the club to focus on playing matters, as evidenced by the start to the season, and not worry about meeting operational costs.

“We hope that BW Medical Accountants will benefit from attracting healthcare clients from within the club and the wider medical network who are seeking financial advice.”

As well as BW Medical Accountants branding on post protectors and match balls, the company logo will feature on headline branding on the club website and through advertisements in the clubs fixture book.

BW Medical Accountants was keen to get involved with the club and approached the team to determine the best way it could provide financial support, with Medicals RFC benefitting from the association thanks to previous sponsorship deals with sister company Blackett Walker.
