12 Nisa stores named in top 100 UK independent shops
The Scunthorpe-based independent retailing giant Nisa is celebrating after the announcement that 12 of its independent retail members have been named in the Independent Achievers Academy’s Top 100 list of independent shops in the UK and Ireland.
IAA’s Top 100 list is based on a rigorous judging process that incorporates mystery shop assessments to measure the stores on 12 best practice categories.
The twelve retailers which were successful included Loco Carlos – Leeds, Loco Gosforth – Newcastle Upon Tyne, Loco Leam Lane – Gateshead, Loco The Top Shop – Lancashire, Nisa Local – Northleigh, Nisa Local – Ryton, Nisa Local – Hockley, Nisa Local – Hemel Hempstead, Nisa Local at Notay’s Heckmondwike, Nisa Local – Broadway, Nisa Local Gains Park – Shrewsbury and Nisa Local – Shrewsbury.
David Lees, owner of the Loco The Top Shop, Lancashire, commented: “We are delighted to have made the Top 100 list.
“Less than one year since our refit and joining Nisa under the Loco symbol it’s great to think that small shops like ours can be recognised alongside larger retailers for the service we offer.”
IAA project manager, Hayley Pavlou, said: ‘We have continued to see a huge increase in standards this year. 46% of this year’s entrants are new to 2013, which shows that more and more retailers are focusing on best practice and improving their shop.
“Making the Top 100 list is a fantastic achievement and highlights the hard work that Nisa retailers and their staff across the country are putting into their businesses.”
