Branding guru Steve Edge set to inspire Yorkshire business leaders
International branding guru Steve Edge will deliver the Annual Lecture to the Yorkshire Institute of Directors (IoD) next month.
The founder of Edge Design is the creative mind behind some of the most successful marketing campaigns of all time and will share his expertise with a business audience at the Leeds Metropolitan University Rose Bowl on November 12.
Since establishing Edge Design Ltd in 1982, Edge has worked with a huge range of big name clients, including Fortnum & Mason, Lock & Co Hatters, Skanska and Hamleys.
He has a reputation for taking old brands and giving them a fresh lease of life, retaining what makes them great whilst bringing them up-to-date and extending their reach.
Talking ahead of his appearance, Edge said: “I learned from an early age that if you want something bad enough then you’ll move heaven and earth to get it.
“There’s a great deal of mystique about how to succeed in business when it’s really quite simple. Listen to what your customers want. Help them build a brand, something that makes them want to fly the flag and tell the world that they can’t live without it.”
Edge is a firm believer that the creative world has a great deal to offer business. He added: “Every product that’s worth a second look is the starting point. It all comes from a bright idea and grows from there.”
The IoD lecture, which has been established as an annual event in partnership with Leeds Metropolitan University, is aimed at senior managers and business leaders in the Yorkshire region. The event is free, but places are available on a first come, first served basis.
