Creative agency demolishes walls to expand Teesside operations

Middlesbrough creative design agency, Calm Digital, is literally breaking down walls to expand and accommodate its growing workforce after a series of substantial contract wins.

The firm have recruited three new members of staff after winning a number of contracts and increasing its turnover by more than 25%.

Following the period of extensive growth the Calm Digital team has taken sledgehammers to its original office in DigitalCity’s Boho One and smashed through two neighbouring offices to occupy the full floor.

The company’s new contracts include working with Middlesbrough Council on its 2013 Christmas campaign, compression and cutting tool manufacturer Izumi, reward benefit consultants WR Planning Group, Lifeline dental recruitment and Mediterranean restaurant The Brasserie Hudson Quay.

Calm Digital managing director Bianca Robinson said: “We are delighted to report our continued growth and reputation as a leading agency in the region.”

“The team’s incredible hard work and service to clients has resulted in a number of contract wins, which in turn has led to our significant increase in turnover as well as the recruitment of three members of staff and the expansion of our office.

“Breaking down the walls in our original office space was very symbolic for the team and our growth; there are no barriers standing in our way to expansion and success.”

Joining the team are Teesside University graduate Holly Stead as a graphic designer, and two developers Tom Carrick and Mark Armstrong.

The agency specialises in disciplines ranging from web design and development, mobile application development, brand, design and marketing.
