Poundland to create 2,500 temporary Christmas jobs
Poundland has announced that it will create around 2,500 temporary positions to manage the busy Christmas period.
It is expected that sales assistant positions will be available in most stores across the country. And in the Republic of Ireland our Dealz stores will be recruiting an additional 160 temporary store colleagues.
Jim McCarthy, CEO at Poundland, comments: “The festive period is always an especially busy time for Poundland as our value-conscious customers look to stock up on Christmas decorations, stocking fillers and gifts.
“The employment market for the retail sector is still fragile and so we are really proud to have significantly increased our temporary vacancies this year
“We are looking for conscientious and enthusiastic individuals, who strive to provide the best possible customer service. Nearly 35% of our temporary colleagues last year were retained in permanent roles in the business, which is good news!”
Stores will start taking on temporary colleagues from October. To apply, applicants are required to collect an application form from their local stores.
