The quartet includes Katie Fawcett and Melissa Bradburn, who have both been awarded Level 3 certificates in management. Alongside them, Deborah Lynn and Rebecca Kay have gained Level 2 qualifications in team leading, and are now working towards their management qualifications.

“Both Melissa and I are fairly new to our management roles and we want to progress by making the right decisions, for ourselves and for others,” said Katie. “Now we have qualified we both feel better equipped to succeed – completing the course has been really helpful.”

“Our role is to coach other team members and help them in their professional development,” added Rebecca. “Having studied team leadership for the past year and now qualified, we plan to encourage others to aim even higher, for themselves and so that our customers receive the very best service possible.”

Ingeus offers a wide range of apprenticeships and NVQ training courses in the North East, and works with employers to improve the skills of the region’s workforce. Helen Ward, Senior Training Officer from Albany Assistance, explained why she chose an external partner to deliver vocational courses to her staff.

“The continual development of people in our business is of paramount importance,” she said. “Having confidence in our abilities means we can all do a better job, and the best route for this is through progressive learning. Ingeus offers ongoing assessments of all those participating in its learning programmes, as well as external verification of their achievements. It’s helping us all strive towards improving the way we work and so provides real bottom line benefits to our company.”

A team of Ingeus specialists, including training advisor Claire Pucci, delivers the qualifications. It’s an intensive relationship with Albany Assistance and is now in its second year. “All our learners work hard, going back to the classroom and dedicating themselves and their time to personal development,” said Claire. “As well as gaining a valuable qualification, learner’s talk of a sense of personal achievement, and the benefits of that are hard to measure.”
