Banks open doors for business in East of England

Yorkshire Bank is launching a Business Week as part of its ongoing support for businesses in the East of England.

Business Week will run from 4th – 8th November and will see the Clydesdale and Yorkshire Bank network of 44 Business & Private Banking Centres across the UK host more than 200 free events for local companies.

As growth and confidence begin to emerge in the UK economy, Business Week aims to help businesses take advantage and build for the future. The week will include sessions offering business and financial advice, networking opportunities, and discussions on key issues affecting local areas and industry sectors; speakers include the Bank’s own experts, such as Chief Economist Tom Vosa, local businesses and professional bodies.

Seminars on topics as diverse as training, exporting, customer care, financial awareness and entrepreneurship are planned to take place throughout the week in towns and cities across the country.

There will be more than 40 events taking place across the East of England, both in regional centres such as Newcastle and Leeds, as well as dozens of other seminars and conferences across the Yorkshire Bank network, at locations including Bradford, Hull and Sheffield.

In addition, some of the Bank’s retail branches will be providing opportunities for small business customers to showcase themselves to existing and potential new customers, and offering drop-in surgeries for small businesses to speak to the Bank about some of their business needs, such as managing payments.

Alan Young, Yorkshire Bank’s regional director for the East of England, said: “As the economy improves, more businesses are looking to invest in growth; we are here to support them. That support is not simply about providing finance. It is putting together the right financial package for individual businesses’ needs, plus the advice and connections to maximise the growth opportunities.

“Business Week is a chance to bring potentially hundreds local businesses together, talk to them, listen to them, understand their goals, and to provide solutions that will help them make the most of the recovery and turn it in to sustainable growth.”
