One for Friends - marketing agency aids fashion retailer
Manchester based One Marketing Communications has been appointed by GetTheLabel.com to produce a series of sponsorship idents for ‘Friends’ on Comedy Central.
The online fashion retailer will feature as sponsors for the New York sitcom from the beginning of November for six weeks, in the build-up to the Christmas retail period.
Tasked with positioning GetTheLabel.com as a fun, feel-good and positive brand, One produced six creative idents which embodied the brief while showcasing the range of products available.
Wayne Silver, deputy managing director at One Marketing Communications said: “We are in the enviable position of producing work for two brands which fit together perfectly. GetTheLabel.com has a widespread demographic that primarily appeals to the 25-40 age group; not dissimilar to ‘Friends’ which also appeals to a variety of generations.
“Our brief was to cement GetTheLabel.com as the provider of discount designer clothing for a multitude of occasions, and we are confident the six variations we have created, do just that.”
Liz McNamara, marketing director at Cheshire-based GetTheLabel.com said: “In terms of TV sponsorship opportunities, it doesn’t get much better than ‘Friends’; and that’s why the concept and execution was paramount.
“One came up with a strategic approach which ticked all these boxes while representing our company ethos perfectly. We couldn’t be happier with the finished product!”
The idents were produced by Lion Eyes and directed by Martin Riley. They will air before and after each ‘Friends’ episode during the designate period, as well as during advertisement breaks.
