Rotherham’s Heavenly Coffee Company raises a cup to national awards
The Dinnington-based Heavenly Coffee Company, a supplier of beverages and equipment to tea and coffee shops, is celebrating with four of its customers on their recent successes in the national Beverage Standards Association (BSA) awards.
The awards, the equivalent the Michelin Stars of the beverage industry, recognise standards of quality, presentation and customer service.
Three of the Heavenly Coffee Company’s customers achieved Four Cups or an ‘Exceptional’ rating by the judges and one received the highest accolade ‘Five Cups’ or ‘Outstanding’.
High accolades went to The Snug Cake and Coffee House in Dronfield Woodhouse, which won Four Cups, along with The Forge Tea Rooms in Brompton by Sawden in Scarborough, and Avanti Caffe in Heswall, on the Wirral.
The Bottle Kiln Cafe in West Hallam in Ilkeston, Derbyshire, which the Heavenly Coffee Company has supplied for four years, won the prestigious Five Cups rating.
Katie Evans, managing director of the Heavenly Coffee Company in Rotherham, said: “It is fantastic news that so many of our customers have won these prestigious national awards.
“These café owners have worked hard to ensure that they can provide a great experience to customers and are serving beverages of the highest quality.
“The fact that so many of our cafés have won awards is also testament to the quality of our products and the continuous training we provide to our customers to enhance the overall customer experience.”
The assessments of each individual cafe are carried out ‘mystery shopper’ style by the BSA’s independent judging panel.
Three drinks are assessed – which usually includes an espresso, coffee or hot chocolate and a cup of tea, in terms of taste, temperature and presentation, with judges awarding ‘Five Cups’ as the highest accolade, down to ‘One Cup’ the lowest.
The winning café owners were presented with their awards by Dame Kelly Holmes at a recent ceremony held at Fulham Palace in London.
