Home care provider announces 200 jobs across North and Scotland
Home care provider Carewatch, which has local branches located across the UK, has advertised 200 jobs for care workers, care coordinators and supervisors.
The recent recruitment drive is part of a planned expansion, driven by Britain’s rapidly ageing population.
It’s estimated that over half a million people in the UK currently receive personal and/or practical care at home - a figure which is set to rise, along with the age of the general populace.
The surge in demand for home care also reflects the public’s perception of the care sector, with home care often seen as a preferable alternative to residential care, because it allows people to remain in their own homes and retain greater control over their day-to-day lives.
Working within the home care sector provides a rewarding role which can make a real difference in people’s lives. The majority of vacancies available at Carewatch are for entry-level Care Workers, who visit local residents in their own homes to help with everyday tasks, such as getting dressed, washed, preparing meals or helping with light domestic duties.
Phil Pegler, Carewatch CEO states: “Our care workers find it a rewarding role, their job satisfaction is in the ability to make real differences to the lives of those they support. Every day, there are people we visit where their care worker is their only social contact for the day. Often their family do not live close-by due to work, or they have family commitments.
“Carewatch provides a full training programme with annual refresher training. It doesn’t stop there, they also receive on-going development in their role and support with career progression. Carewatch is one of the UK’s major employers.”
Applicants can view the vacancies available in their local area via the jobs section on Carewatch’s website.
