HURST's Matt Smith wins award from JCI Manchester
Matt Smith, an associate partner at accountancy firm HURST, has been crowned finance professional of the year by JCI Manchester.
The 31-year-old was presented with his accolade at the organisation’s annual Young Talent Awards dinner, which was held at the Imperial War Museum North and attracted 300 guests.
JCI Manchester is an organisation for young professionals and entrepreneurs and is part of the Junior Chamber International network.
Matt is part of HURST’s business services team, overseeing a portfolio of compliance clients, undertaking special projects and due diligence.
He is also responsible for business development and mentors other members of the business services team, which is led by partner Andrew Milnes.
Matt trained and qualified at PwC, joining the firm as an apprentice at 18 and rising to become one of its youngest-ever managers at 21.
From there he joined Cowgill Holloway, before moving to Stockport and Manchester firm HURST in August 2011.
He said: “I’m immensely proud to have won this prestigious award. It’s always great to have your hard work recognised and celebrated.
“I’d like to thank JCI for organising a superb event and of course the fantastic team at HURST for providing me with the opportunities to flourish and develop my career.”
Andrew Milnes said: “We are delighted for Matt. He works incredibly hard and is so passionate about supporting his clients and colleagues.”
