CNN International to be IFB 2014 partner

The International Festival for Business (IFB), next year’s global showcase of British industry, has sealed a deal with CNN International, the Royal Television Society’s News Channel of the Year, as an official media partner.

CNN International will have a commercial presence at the festival, which is taking place across June and July 2014, and the IFB will advertise across CNN’s platforms.

We are delighted that, through this commercial partnership, CNN will be an official media partner of the IFB. The Festival is set to be the biggest global showcase of British industry in more than a generation.”

Joe Anderson, Mayor of Liverpool, added: “Advertising across CNN’s platforms will help convey the ambition and scale of the Festival around the world, and show to a huge audience how open for business we are in the UK. This campaign is a critical part of my ambition to forge new international business relationships for the city.”

The IFB, held in the Liverpool City Region, will comprise of more than 100 world-class events. It forms a central part of the UK government’s goal of boosting economic growth, rebalancing the economy and doubling British exports by 2020. Delegates will come from across the globe for a series of high profile events, exhibitions and celebrations, in order to realise the potential of global economic growth.

Leading figures from British business, alongside some of the UK’s most inspiring entrepreneurs, have pledged their support to the festival and become official Ambassadors.

Former Tesco CEO Sir Terry Leahy; Terry Scuoler, Chief Executive, EEF; John Cridland CBE, Director General; and Confederation of British Industry and National Chairman of the Federation of Small Businesses John Allan, stand alongside leading entrepreneurs, including Sara Murray OBE, founder of Confused.com and Buddi; Ed Wray, founder of Betfair; Paul Lindley, founder & CEO of Ella’s Kitchen; and Sarah Wood, UK Female Entrepreneur of the Year and co-founder of marketing technology company UNRULY.

The IFB will focus on key areas of commerce that are transforming the business landscape of Britain and beyond, including manufacturing, science & technology; maritime, logistics & energy; knowledge, professional & financial services; higher & further education & research; low carbon & renewables; cities, enterprise & urban business; knowledge, creative & digital.
