New £1m North East call centre ready to open for business

A Newcastle call centre is set to open for business early in the new year and hopes to recruit a further 25 people by early March.

As reported by Bdaily in September, Call Connection are investing £1 million in the Newcastle operation, and plan to create 100 jobs in their 6,500 sq ft call centre at Pandon, on Newcastle Quayside, by the end of 2014.

Call Connection, the UK’s largest lead generation company for the insurance sector, will officially open on 2nd January with an existing team of 25.

Salries will start at £17k, Graeme Kalbraier, managing director of the company, revealed to Bdaily.

The team will be responsible for telephone lead trading work with clients including the AA, Admiral and Aviva, and is expected to field over one million calls in 2014.

Founded in 2003, Call Connection currently has a contact centre in Ipswich and a London sales office, employing 250 full-time staff.

Operations manager, Chris Brain, who joined Call Connection eight years ago as a call transfer executive and has relocated to Newcastle from the Ipswich office, said: “We would encourage motivated and hard-working individuals considering their next career move to get in touch asap.

“As well as an attractive working environment and an existing team full of friendly, supportive people, we can offer a highly competitive salary and bonus structure to help start 2014 as you mean to go on.”

Call Connection has twice been named as a Sunday Times ‘Top 100 Company’ and receiver of the prestigious Investors in People Silver Standard award.

Call transfer executive, Lindsey Bramwell, said: “I decided to make the move to Call Connection as I wanted a new challenge and a faster-paced working environment.”

Neil Parker said: “I’d heard great things about the company and was attracted by the salary and bonus structure. I also like that there is a huge emphasis on promoting from within which means that if you work hard, you can progress and be rewarded for your efforts.”

Graeme Kalbraier, said: “I’m delighted our Newcastle operation is proving a success just one month in and I can only see business bolstering further once our next 25 recruits join the existing team.

“Call Connection is ten years old now and with demand for our services rapidly increasing, Newcastle is an important cornerstone of our growth plans, housing up to 110 staff. This is a very exciting time to join us on our journey.”
