£500,000 contract sparks bright new year for Leeds' Finite

A new contract valued at nearly £500,000 is paving the way to a positive start to 2014 for Leeds-based Finite Solutions.

The home automation specialist has announced a healthy forward order book and a projected growth in turnover by 15% to £2m in 2014.

Recessionary conditions and ‘cutbacks’ in home improvements are contrary to the experience of the team at Finite, as director Simon Mathieson explained: “Whilst there is a definite change in the market, we have maintained a strong focus on solutions that deliver state-of-the-art’ entertainment but also security and energy efficiency.

“Certainly we operate in a high end market but when a client is investing in complete home automation technology, they want expert installers that will add value.

“We have been able to assist clients with integrated solutions that can easily control audio-visual, lighting and security systems whilst also facilitating considerable energy savings all of which can be monitored around the world via mobile or tablet.”

Finite Solutions was first established by three former Leeds University students often living on just £3 a week.

The company turned over £70,000 in its first year but went on to double its turnover year on year for the first five years with no outside investment.

It now operates from offices in Yorkshire, Cheshire and London but competes on an international scale as one of the UK’s largest and most successful custom installation companies.

Mathieson added: “Showcasing what we can do is absolutely essential to securing clients and we are investing significantly back into the business to overhaul our award winning Show House in Leeds.

“It’s a place where we can seriously impress our clients and incorporates the very latest in whole house smart technology and energy efficient lighting.

“2014 is going to be a very exciting year for Finite Solutions and our biggest contract to date, relaunching our Show House and celebrating our tenth anniversary is a great start.”
