Sunderland firm hits the road with nationwide legislation roadshow
Sunderland-based Cedrec will be hitting the road in January with a nationwide roadshow to provide guidance on the latest changes to health and safety and environmental legislation.
Cedrec’s series of city centre events will help organisations better understand the implications of the changes, the effect they will have on businesses and highlighting additional changes that are expected to come in 2014.
A key element of the day will be a special ‘Cedrec surgery’ to provide support with registers of legislation, management systems and any other relevant issues that organisations struggle to understand.
Cedrec specialises in providing public and private sector organisations with help and advice in understanding, interpreting and complying with environmental legislation and regulations. The company offers a range of specialist consultancy and subscriptions services.
Cedrec’s auditor and director Gareth Billinghurst will lead the event. He said: “The company has had a busy year summarising over 400 safety and environment documents ranging from UK and EU legislation - all relating to business - and adding these to its subscription service.”
Also, the government is looking at improving 130 regulations and removing 53 which is making it hard for businesses to ensure they are complying with the law and know themselves that everything is up to date.
“Trying to navigate through changes in legislation can be difficult even for those with responsibility for compliance, facilities management and health and safety,” said Gareth Billinghurst.
“Our workshop will help people make sense of legislation which is being revised and updated constantly and the relevance and impact it has on their organisations. It’s important that those responsible understand the risks involved and have the facts to hand.”
The roadshow will be at:
· Newcastle (7 January)
· Leeds (9 January)
· Belfast (14 January)
· Edinburgh (16 January)
· Cardiff (21 January)
· Birmingham (22 January)
· Manchester (23 January)
· London (28 January)
