Xamax saves the day for Wakefield Wildcats

Xamax, the Ossett-based clothing specialist and manufacturer of sportswear, has come to the rescue to supply Wakefield Trinity Wildcats with full branded kits for their forthcoming Boxing Day game against the Leeds Rhinos.

Facing a very real possibility of playing in their pants, the team was running out of options with no kits to wear during the match against their local rivals.

Hearing of the player’s plight, Graham Thompson, managing director from Xamax, called the team and offered to manufacture and deliver the kits within the week.

Graham said: “I had heard that the Wildcats were struggling to get their kits sorted for the game on Boxing Day.

“Knowing how busy it can be in the run up to Christmas and how difficult it can be to get orders delivered at this time of year, we gave the coach a call and offered to help them out.

He added: “We manufacture rugby league football kits onsite and have the UK’s most advanced machinery, which means we are able to meet very demanding deadlines, whatever the time of year. We are pleased to have been in a position to help the Wildcats – whatever the outcome of the game at least they know they will look the part.”

Michael Carter, chairman of Wakefield Trinity Wildcats said: “We can’t thank Graham and the team at Xamax enough.

“We were going to have to fly all the way to Italy to sort the kits out and we were very aware that we were running out of time!

“Thankfully Xamax saved the day and we can now take to the pitch in style, as opposed to in our pants!”
