Business Durham, Durham County Council’s business arm, is celebrating another success after securing more jobs for County Durham.
It comes with the news that Cubis Industries, a market leader in the manufacture and design of structural preformed products for underground network access and protection, has set-up its new manufacturing site in Peterlee, County Durham.
It’s a move that has created an initial 11 new jobs, with a recruitment drive planned in the future. The company is part of the CRH plc Group, Ireland’s largest PLC
Simon Goon, managing director, Business Durham, the economic development company for County Durham, said: “We have been in discussions with the company for many months and they are the latest in a long line to recognise County Durham’s growing reputation as a top location for expanding companies. We will do everything we can to offer more help and support to ensure the company grows and develops within the County.”
The company’s new site, part of plans to develop their UK based operations, is on the South West Industrial Estate in Peterlee.
Colman Cooney, commercial director for Cubis Industries, added: “This is an exciting move for us. We have received excellent support from the Business Durham team and our first class facilities will help us expand even further. We have taken on 11 new members of staff but we are looking to create more jobs in the future.”
Cllr Neil Foster, Cabinet member for economic regeneration, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Cubis as the latest innovative business choosing County Durham as the place to locate.
“Through the work of Business Durham we’re ensuring that the county is seen as a great place to work and live, creating jobs and boosting the local economy.”
