Head of British Hospitality Association to speak at Yorkshire hotel show

Where: Ebor Stand, York Racecourse When: Tuesday 18th & Wednesday 19th February 2014 Ufi Ibrahim, chief executive of the British Hospitality Association is to speak at the Yorkshire Hotel Show in February and will provide an update on The Big Conversation in Hospitality, an industry initiative.

The Big Conversation in Hospitality is a joint initiative between the British Hospitality Association, Springboard and Business in the Community. It brings together influential industry leaders from the top hospitality businesses with young people to do three things.

• Stimulate an important dialogue between them on employability skills, work experience and apprenticeships

• Encourage offer more quality work experiences, more apprenticeships, and employ more local young people

• Through BHA, take a powerful message to Government to gain proper recognition about the important and significant contribution the hospitality industry is playing to stimulate economic recovery, address youth employment and stimulate growth.

The Big Conversation gives young people a voice; it gives industry leaders the opportunity to interact with young people, hear their views, understand and respond to their challenges; it gives the industry a powerful message to take to Government.

Other confirmed speakers include: Gary Verity, chief executive, Welcome to Yorkshire; Joel Brandon-Bravo, managing director, TravelZoo; Martin Philips, chief executive, Recommended Hotels, David Curtis-Brignall, chairman, English Tourism Week plus two York-based tourism and hotel consultants, Martin Evans, managing director, The Tourism Business and John Gallery, managing director, The Great Potential Consultancy

The FREE to attend event is open to hoteliers, caterers, publicans, restaurateurs, conference organisers, event management companies, self-catering and holiday apartment owners who can visit and see for themselves the latest innovations.

The show features trade stands exhibiting the latest equipment, food, drink, interiors, design services, technology and business improvements services The venue for the show is the Ebor Stand at York Racecourse; a space that overlooks the racecourse and has great access with 2000 free parking spaces.
