Newcastle marketing firm to create North East jobs after winning new contracts

A Newcastle based marketing firm has ambitious plans to create 25 new jobs in the North East in the coming year.

Meridian Delta, on Pink Lane in the city, predicts a £2.7 million turnover this year after winning significant contracts with Manchester United, Nestle, Ford and Asda.

This has led to initial plans to recruit 10 new members of staff with further posts then being created. The firm plans to expand its workforce by 25, to 70.

The majority of the jobs on offer will be for sales staff. As part of this recruitment drive the company, which is keen to help young people into work, will also be taking on apprentices.

Chris Black, sales team manager, commented: “Meridian Delta’s aim is to become the biggest direct marketing agency outside London in the next two years and we need to increase our sales headcount to increase our number of customers and re-order rates.”

The company also hopes to launch a mobile website and apps development division in the coming months.

The direct marketing business benefited from soaring demand in 2013, and is one of the few companies in their sector to grow despite the tough economic climate.

Meridian Delta has an impressive 14,000 strong client portfolio. It is one of around 300 established agency members of the Direct Marketing Association (DMA), the trade association recognised as the voice of responsible and ethical direct marketing.

Chris Black continued: “We are actively scouring the North East for the most talented and hungry people within the region who can join us on the next stage of our journey. We definitely think Newcastle is the place to be!”

Those wishing to apply for these jobs will be able to do so through the Meridian Delta jobs site which has been set up to deal with the expected high number of applications.
