DTM Legal helps Galliers Homes build a better future

DTM Legal has aided the economic growth and development of Shrewsbury based house builder Galliers Homes Limited. The house builder, founded in 1987 has joined forces with Staffordshire-based Cameron Homes to develop a range of new housing schemes in Shropshire and mid Wales.

Galliers Homes was founded by one of Shrewsbury’s best-known businessmen Graham Galliers, who passed away in October last year.

Ownership of the business has been transferred to Tara Developments, a holding company based in Chasetown, Staffordshire, which also owns Cameron Homes.

Nigel Clarke will step down as managing director of Galliers Homes but continues as a consultant, identifying sites and steering schemes through the planning process.

Nigel said: “We are very excited about the future - this partnership will be of real benefit to the regional economy, creating jobs and providing much-needed, high quality new properties.”

Ian Burns, who has been appointed as managing director of Galliers Homes, said:

“We have an excellent senior management team with many years’ experience and the capacity to expand Galliers’ building operation, ensuring that its reputation for building the best houses in prime locations within Shropshire and the Welsh borders is maintained and enhanced.”

Plans for the future also include the opening, early this year, of a new Galliers office in Shrewsbury which will include a state of the art sales and marketing suite. Prospective customers will be able to access details of all new developments, as well as choosing the finishes and making any changes to personalise their new home.

Acting as the lead team on the deal were Ed Barnes, head of corporate at DTM Legal, and the firm’s head of commercial property, Matt Robinson.

Ed Barnes said: “We have known Galliers Homes for a long time now and were delighted to be involved in the partnership with Cameron Homes.”

Ed continued: “Alongside the corporate element of the deal, the transaction involved the co-ordination of a number of other professional teams in the firm, particularly on the property side, and is an encouraging sign of economic recovery in the region.”
