TyneMet College and Siemens Plc in partnership agreement
TyneMet College is delighted to announce the renewal of a training contract and continuation of an important working relationship with Siemens Plc.
The two parties have signed a new partnership agreement, extending an earlier agreement signed between the College and Siemens Energy Service Fossil in 2010.
The new partnership agreement, signed on 19th January 2014, is also for a three year period and aims to foster a high standard of education with a focus on scientific technological and business-related subjects and social skills in order to assist Siemens plc in the achievement of its business objectives.
The systematic preparation of young people for working life is a vital task to which both parties are committed.
Jon Vincent, principal and chief executive, TyneMet College, said: “We are delighted to have signed this new partnership agreement with Siemens plc. The fact that Siemens plc are committing another three years to the partnership, I see, as a clear endorsement of the high standard and quality of training that TyneMet has delivered to their employees.
“TyneMet was the first college in the North of England to be awarded STEM Assured® status; this standard recognises excellence in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths) provision within the Further Education sector, with a particular focus on industry relevance and embedding STEM skills across a range of learning areas.
“At TyneMet we are constantly working with industry specialists to develop new courses designed to up-skill and advance both employees and employers across the North East. We are determined to be at the forefront of STEM provision and to be able to respond efficiently to the needs of local and national employers.”
