Onyx Group Growth in the Clouds

Onyx Group, one of the UK’s leading and longest established providers of IT infrastructure and support, have delivered another year of strong growth.

In the year where Onyx Group celebrates its 20th birthday, it is pleased to report that underlying growth in 2013 has risen by 13%, with turnover now approaching the £20 million mark.

This impressive increase which goes against the grain in tough market conditions has been driven by businesses embracing reliable and flexible technologies such as cloud computing and data hosting.

Onyx Group, who were one of the early suppliers of cloud and data centre services, have maintained their market leadership by actively investing in their award winning infrastructure over the years. 2013 was no different, with six figure investments being made to enhance their Cloud Platform with Hitachi Data Systems hardware and grow their data centre estate, with further development of the Edinburgh and Sheffield sites, bringing their overall hosting space to 70,000 sq. ft.

With over 120 staff nationwide, people are as important as the technology at Onyx Group. Last year they invested in two new director roles for John Toal, former Avnet CEO, as Sales and Marketing Director and Paul Crinnion former Cable and Wireless as Operations Director. They bring with them a wealth of industry experience that will support the company in its ambitious growth plans.

During the past 12 months Onyx Group has continued to attract high profile businesses from around the UK to its base. These include, a five year multi-million pound deal with Edinburgh Airport and new contracts with high profile clients including; DFS, Kwik Fit and A-one+.
