Davis Blank Furniss announces ‘Monitoring in the Workplace’ breakfast seminar
Davis Blank Furniss – the Manchester based law firm – has announced details of its first free Employment Law Breakfast Briefing for 2014. The event will be taking place at the firm’s offices in the city centre on Thursday 13th March and will ask the question: How far can an organisation go in monitoring members of staff in the workplace?
The Employment Law Team at Davis Blank Furniss will explore the benefits of monitoring in the workplace including:
Phone calls;
E-mails;
Websites visited;
Random drug and alcohol testing;
and Covert surveillance, etc.
Shiva Shadi – head of the Employment Team – said: “The questions and issues around monitoring employees in the workplace are rarely addressed by most organisations until a serious incident occurs. This seminar will provide practical advice and best practice so that employers do not fall foul of the minefield that is the legal framework which currently covers surveillance of employees.“
