New social care centre brings 40 jobs and counting to York
New job opportunities are being created in York with the opening of a new support centre by a national specialist care provider.
Danshell, a leading provider of independent health and social care services, has opened its central support office at Holgate Park, occupying part of a CPP leased building on the site.
Around 40 people are employed at the support centre and Danshell expects to recruit more staff in the coming months. Langleys Solicitors in York acted on the seven-year lease of the second and third floor of the building known as Gateway 1.
Danshell cares for and supports young people and adults at specialist hospitals, care facilities and residential services throughout England and Scotland.
The company says York is an ideal location for its support hub due to its central geographic location and excellent transport links.
The new offices will be used for training and professional development and will also be made available to fellow practitioners in the York area including local authority and NHS care professionals and leading care and mental health charities.
Debra Moore, Danshell’s Group Director of Nursing, Quality and Governance, said: “This move is a further demonstration of our commitment to providing the highest standard of support for our dedicated care services across the country.
“I’m really excited by the prospect of using these new facilities to further involve service users and families in delivering excellent care.”
Tim Cross, partner and head of the commercial property unit at Langleys, said: “We’re pleased to have been involved in Danshell’s move to York – the company is an exciting addition to the businesses located at Holgate Park.”
