Leeds Google specialist Refractiv wins contract with Scottish fashion brand

Glasgow-based fashion brand Marble has chosen Leeds-based Google expert Refractiv to take it into the world of cloud based computing.

Refractiv has created an iPad app for sales agents as well as a cloud based integrated back-office application for Marble’s growing operations in the UK and Europe.

Refractiv is also updating Marble’s internal IT systems to take advantage of the benefits of Google Apps across the business. Set up in 2008, the Marble Collection has developed a strong customer base, with over 400 retailers in the UK, Europe and Canada.

Marble specialises in feminine co-ordinates that appeal to women of all ages. Its collections are available in sizes 10-22, with both vibrant colours and chic neutrals forming part of its approach to building ‘capsule’ wardrobes.

The new applications and Google Apps technology are enabling the company to optimise staff time, improve management efficiency and ensure the company’s IT keeps pace with the latest developments in cloud computing.

Nick Williams, CEO of Marble, said: ““Fashion is a dynamic and competitive business so our sales agents visit retailers and fashion exhibitions all the time and need access to our full product portfolio with current pricing and instant ordering capability.

“The iPad App has totally revolutionised how we do this and because it is accurate, dynamic and instantaneous, is saving us time, money and securing business.

“The App completely integrates with our back office system and therefore supports every other area of our business.

“Refractiv took an holistic approach to the huge challenge we set them and has delivered a really smart, totally joined up solution through the App, back office, business IT and website.”

Richard Atkinson, MD of Refractiv said: “As a young and growing fashion brand, Marble is stealing a march on many of its longer established competitors, who have been slower to embrace the agility of cloud computing.

“The transition to Google Apps will improve efficiency and productivity as well as ensuring the business stays ahead of the latest online trends, which is invaluable for any fashion retailer.”
